Athletic Program Ranked #1 in State for 2nd Year

We are excited to announce that Sarasota Christian School's Athletic Program has won the FHSAA Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup, ranking #1 in the State for the second consecutive year out of over 100 competing schools for the honor.

Odyssey Teams Advance to World Finals

SCS will be sending two high school Odyssey of the Mind teams to World Finals at Michigan State University in May.

The school's 10th grade team placed first in its problem and division and will attend its 5th World Competition.

The school's 12th grade team is completing its 10 year run in the Odyssey of the Mind program and came in first in its problem and division for the 7th year in a row.  The team also won the Ranatra Fusca Creativity Award for the 4th year in a row.

5th Graders Receive Playwright Awards

Of the more than 3,300 plays submitted from across the globe to the Florida Studio Theatre Young Playwrights Festival, 46 received honorable mentions.  We are pleased to announced that 5th graders, Caryes Moore and Peri LaBonte, were among this select group!

Circus Camp 6/1-5

Lights! Sound! Action! Balance! Juggle! Clown! Spin! Flip! Fun! This on-site camp is designed to introduce children to circus arts, as well as performing and visual arts in a safe and non-competitive Christian environment. Grades K-6

Volleyball Camp (elem. & middle school) 6/8-12

SCS teacher and volleyball coach Lisa Nielsen will teach the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting, and serving in a fun environment.  grades 1-6

Home Economics Camp 6/8-12

Create, taste and experience! Learn basic cooking, baking and sewing skills, decorate cupcakes, and dinner table etiquette with teacher/chef Kim Rockwell. grades 4-6

Soccer Camp 6/8-12

Soccer coach Curtis Lynch and varsity soccer players will teach a variety of skill levels designed to build confidence and take players to the next level of play. grades 2-8

Young Explorers Camp 6/8-12

Teachers Kristie Moore and Cassandra Thoresen have an exciting week planned for 4 and 5 yearolds.  The camp will provide a safe and fun week of exploring “Under the Sea” themed arts and crafts, snacks, story time, outdoor fun and more.  grades: PreK & K

Musical Theater Camp 6/8-12

Explore drama, choreography and singing skills through the production of a Disney Kids musical, taught by music teacher Lindsey Gray. Campers will showcase their production on the last day of camp. grades 1-8.

Volleyball Camp (middle school) 6/8-11

SCS volleyball coach Mitch King will emphasize individual skills in small groups including passing, serving and hitting, and proper form.  grades 6-8

Art Camp 6/22-26

Art teacher Amber Pry will teach the elements and basic skills of art through painting, drawing, and arts and crafts while students enjoy a week of creativity. grades 4-8

Basketball Camp 6/22-26

SCS basketball camps have a long tradition of excellence; coaches will teach players the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and competitive environment. grades 1-8
