Athletic Achievements

Championship Class 1A Athletics

Our Blazers have enjoyed an amazing degree of success as a result of applying our basic fundamental principles.  Sarasota Christian School has won the Dodge Cup three times in the past few years.  From 2005 to 2009, the Blazer athletic program was ranked the #1 Athletic Program (class 1A*) as quantified by the Dodge Cup standings**.

Some notable achievements:

  • Many Blazer athletes have been recognized as "All Area" performers.
  • Several Blazer teams have made it to the Final Four and/or State Final Championships.
  • Several Blazer coaches have been awarded “Coach of the Year” by the Sarasota Herald Tribune.  
  • Approximately 20% of our athletes have been given the opportunity to play in intercollegiate athletics over the past few years.  According to the NCAA, only about 5.85 % of high school athletes go on to play NCAA sports.

We believe that the success of the Blazer athletic program comes as a result of focusing on building faith and character in our athletes.

We offer the following sports:

Boys Baseball, Boys & Girls Basketball, Boys & Girls Soccer, Girls Softball, Boys & Girls Golf, Boys & Girls Cross Country, Boys & Girls Swimming, Boys & Girls Track & Field and Girls Volleyball. 

*Sarasota Christian is a member of the FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association) and competes in class 1A.  There are six classifications based on the size of schools.  There are approximately 125 schools in class 1A.

** The Dodge Cup is awarded to schools that participate in the FHSAA State Tournaments by calculating their cumulative success in all sports.
